Our design for the UK Holocaust Memorial, part of the UKHM and Learning Centre, honours victims and survivors while addressing the fading edge of living memory. Created with Adjaye Associates and Gustafson Porter + Bowman, the memorial features a meandering path ascending a hill to reveal a fractured landscape. Tall bronze walls inscribe 22 paths, each representing a country where Jewish communities were decimated. Visitors experience these paths individually, descending into a contemplative space below. Positioned near Parliament, the memorial invites reflection on the Holocaust and its enduring relevance to human rights and freedoms.
